Moylough National School wanted more from its outdoor space. The yard was there, but it wasn’t sparking much excitement. It felt flat, a little uninspiring. Now, after a SchoolsGrass installation, it’s a place full of colour, energy and play. The centrepiece is the new pitch. Laid in vibrant green artificial grass, it’s brought to life with distinct blue pitch lines and sidelines. The markings are crisp and clear, giving pupils a proper surface for matches, drills and PE lessons. It feels purposeful without being too formal, and the colour instantly lifts the whole area. Alongside the pitch is a section with six running lanes. These aren’t plain white stripes. Each lane is divided with bold colours - red, black, blue and orange. The mix of shades gives the track a striking look, while still providing clear structure for races and training. Children love lining up side by side to test their speed, whether in lessons or at break time.
Adding even more fun are playful designs built into the surface. A colourful number worm winds across one area, inviting younger pupils to jump, count and explore. It adds a learning element to play and makes the space inclusive for all ages. The mix of sports lines, running lanes and creative graphics means there’s something for everyone.
