Carragh National School has had a big upgrade to its outdoor space. What was once just a yard is now a colourful, multi-use area that gives pupils more ways to play, learn and exercise. The centrepiece of the project is the new artificial grass pitch. It’s finished with crisp yellow line and goal markings, giving the surface shape and structure for football and other games. A blue border runs around the outside, framing the pitch and making the green centre stand out even more. The contrast is striking, and the whole area feels polished and inviting. Beside the pitch is a second play zone, also finished in artificial grass. This section has its own identity, marked out with yellow borders and filled with bright, playful designs. Pupils can jump into a colourful number train, play a round of hopscotch, or gather around a grass design of a school jersey. Each feature adds character to the yard and gives children a variety of ways to enjoy the space. The combination of the structured pitch and the creative play area works really well.
