The ASD unit at St. Augustine’s School needed more from its outdoor space. What was once a fairly standard yard has now been transformed by SchoolsGrass into a vibrant, multi-use play area that combines colour, structure, and fun in equal measure. The first thing you notice is the basketball court. Finished in a striking shade of blue, it immediately stands out in the middle of the space. It gives the pupils a clear, defined zone for games, exercise and free play. The bold colour makes it feel lively, energetic, and different from the rest of the yard. Around the court, the play equipment is framed by bright artificial grass. Each climbing structure and piece of equipment has its own highlighted area, helping to guide children towards different activities. The colours aren’t just decoration — they make the space feel organised and purposeful while still being playful.
